OCWorkbench ASUS Eee PC 900 plays WMVHD 1080p Terminator 2

Despite the fact that the on board integrated chip is a 915G. This Eee PC 900 is still able to playback with a bit of struggling. Anyway, the video says it all, playing back with Windows Media Classic 6.4

NO problems playing DIVX at all

There are two variants of the file at WMVHD. You can download 720p version and it will play much smoother.

It doesn't matter if it is a 1080p playing back in a smaller screen, the processor still needs more procesing power to process a 1080p as compared to 720p.

Why am i doing it. It is to stress it to the max.

I 3x boot my 900ha eee 1.6ghz atom.

windows 7 ---> runs better than xp

Ubuntu 9.04 --> runs better than xp not better than win7

osx 10.5.6 ---> runs pretty darn good, plus everything including updates works.

I would like to buy one, but it would have to be smooth with divx/xvid ;)

Interesting, but the thing is, if it plays fine at 720 then that's all you need. On a screen as small as an eee's, you'd be hard pressed to see the difference.

The 701 handles h.264 standard definition fine, once you downgrade mplayer to get the codec working. The 900 seems to have faster video capabilities, so it should handle it no trouble.
