Pretty spot on Dukes of Hazzard parody for the late great Beckers chain of stores. They always had the best egg nog!

  • Whatever became of Becker's - did they get bought out by Mac's or someone?

  • Yep, bought out by Mac's in 1996. The milk was still made with the Beckers brand name up until about 2 years ago. Beckers is dead... long live Beckers!

  • I still have a Beckers in my area.....

  • Damn Macs!

Beckers were the best. Not very many like 7-11 but special and always a treat to see and shop at.

  • They also had the best chocolate milk. I could chug a 1L jug back in no time at all. I still call Mac's Becker's.

  • Same here, being from Vancouver and all, that was the only way of even knowing such a company existed, and I had no idea what kind of business it was. The same could be said about Loeb on the boards of MLG and also Provigo on the boards of the Montreal Forum.

  • Yep, I remember Beckers!! We had one downtown, when I was a kid. Well, actually, it started out as the "old-skool" Mac's, with the orange cat wearing the tam, AND when I hit grade 7, I always went to Beckers on my lunch hour from school and stocked up on candy, chips, gum, and pop. LOL!! That Beckers is a Daisy Mart now and we currently have a Mac's down the street from my house.

  • Beckers Milk was always the greatest!!

  • I agree. LONG LIVE BECKER'S! Almost has the best name ever! :-D

  • Becker's "maple ripple" ice cream was incredible. Oshawa had a rip-off of Beckers, called "Checkers". Clever huh?

  • Yeah, I'm definitely missing their egg nog in the recent years.

Also, love this commercial for it's run on DUKES OF HAZZARD - what with it's look alikes.

  • I used to live on Rusty Crestway (Don Mills & Van Horne area) when I was a kid & there used to be a Becker's right up the street from me in the Peanut Plaza. I remember going there often to pick up all my supplies like pop & Crunch N Munch for Saturday Night's Main Event. Becker's was definitely the best!
