How to change a distributor cap and rotor on a 1998 Honda Civic. This install is virtually the same for any Honda or Acura that has ignition wires (older models).

  • Will I need to mess with re-timing or anything just doing this process, or only if I was changing the whole distributor?

  • @dimelives1 nope, your timing will still be fine doing this procedure.

  • Hi, nukem384. I'm looking to do this exact procedure on my '98 Accord LX (4 cyl). Any extra tips or significant differences I should have in mind? Thanks!

  • @dimelives1 you wont have to do the crank rotation because the screw isnt hidden. itll be an easier job on the 98-02 accord

  • @nukem384 is the screw hidden on the 94 accord?

  • @JdmCd7 yeah it is

  • @jimmie1993XD u just look up the firing order its simple

  • @playermade yeah it happens. probably since its been in there so long. take an impact driver and gently hit it. you need to shock the threads loose so you can unscrew it
