My wife and I are currently building a wine cellar in our basement. Insulation question, did you use the lycene foam insulation in the ceiling as well or just the walls? If you did not use teh lycene foam in the ceiling, what did you use for a vapor barrier, 6mm plastic sheeting perhaps?

What kind of stone is that, im thinking of using something similar to it, can you give me a supplier?
-
Quien pudiera, I would love to be able to do that.

The roof is woring? Can resist the weather? It seems like to me, it's an easy construction.

Icyene on ceiling. We used 2X6 studs to increases the volume of insulation. Vapor barrier was plastic sheeting but I can't remember the millage. Don't waste your money on an expensive auto-humidification system. We use a $20 small waterfall purchased at Lowes/Home Depot. It holds a perfect 70% humidity. Good luck and don't fill it up too fast like we did because you get stuck with too many bottles of one vintage. Take your time and try to collect verticals.

Vigilant, Inc. has the best wine racks in the world. They built the racks for a friends house and it's awesome. Check out their showcase page.

We looked at Vigilant but they were more expensive and did not appear to have the same quality as Wine Cellar Innovations. Additionally, Wine Cellar Innovations had more design options.

Is there anything you would have done different? Anything that you didnt like about it?

less ornate stonework and more racks. Also we ripped out the finished cork flooring due to multiple leaks. We now have crushed limestone with large slate "stepping stones"

Yes, please estimate the cost, I am looking into something very similar.

Racks were about $13K
Cooling unit was about $5K
The addition was more than we were planning on....
