  • Thanks for posting this, it is very informative. I spent some time in Zimbabwe and we used to play this in the ground with stones. 10 years later I still remember it and found a board in my local gift shop. So looking forward to playing it again. Cheers .....

  • Hi there, spent a lot of time in Zim having grown up in SA and having 2 sisters there until one of Mugabe's army trucks ran over my sisters car on her side of the road and broke almost every bone in her body which led to her eventual death. Anyway the great animal parks of the south inspired my sculpture work on this game. Thanks for the feedback. - Don

  • Hi when you land in a hole with no other stones in and you take the opponents stones from the oppisite hole, do you get an other turn ?

  • We played that you did not get another turn. There are no hard rules and so I suggest that as long as you agree to the rule either way before you start then it is ok. Always agree to the rules you play before starting especially with someone who you have not played before. LOL I remember distinctly playing someone who just kept changing the rules for their benefit whenever they liked because we had not discussed them. Best regards - Don

  • Thank you for the kind words. I made about 1000 of these games, yes I did do the sculpture work on the original. I have about 500 left if anyone would like one, see dreamgreen org

  • Yes very straight forward...agree with you & thank you. You did very well in explaining not only on how to play Mancala but a little bit of its History too. I learned more than I needed but its okay thanks again.
