In this video I show how to verbose boot a new generation device (including all A4s!) using greenpois0n. Things you'll need:
1) irecovery
2) greenpois0n
The commands in recovery mode:
setenv boot-args 1
saveenv
/exit
Then hold home+power for ten seconds then keep holding home button. Then just run greenpois0n :D
EDIT: I can now confirm it works on my iPhone 3GS on 4.2.1 with Greenpois0n RC5 beta 4 AS WELL as my iPod touch 4 on 4.1 with Greenpois0n RC4 :)
EDIT 2: I can now confirm it works with my iPod touch 2G MC on 4.1 :)

  • @AlezRhettGrammr you must use the computer every time you want to verbose boot because it requires patches that cannot be applied every boot for this we need an untethered bootrom exploit

  • how to do this on new greenpois0n rc6

  • @sxcwar it should work in the same way but if not get a hold of an older version and it will work. I haven't really tested it with RC6

  • Ok, I got da stuff working...well, the tools that I needed. Yet, I have no work-around for iPhone3GS-4.3.1. but Imma gonna see what I can do.

  • @ingwie1993 All works for me lol

  • Hey dude. Nice tutorial! But...I have two problems:

    1. I am on a mac

    2. I am on 4.3.1!

How do I get verbose on my iphone 3gs (NEW bootrom!)? And you might want to send that trick to the Dev-Team - I guess they'd have a good use for that trick :3

  • @ingwie1993 I'm sure the Dev Team know about it. I actually found the trick when reading through the syringe source code :) it checks that variable before doing anything - it's not really a hack :)

  • Do I have to use my computer every time I want to verbose boot or do I just do this once and it always verbose boots (like I want)?

  • @sliderkk See above comment to @mydan78699 :)

  • @mydan78699 start -> run -> cmd to access command prompt then you need to run iRecovery. Download from the internet (google it) or compile yourself (github.com/Chronic-Dev/libirecovery)
