Toro y Moi with Machete at Eye Level Art

South Carolina native, Toro y Moi (Chazwick Bundick), performed last Saturday at Charleston's Eye Level Art. Chaz is one of the pioneers of the chillwave movement - a genre that took form in the summer of 2009. Under Carpark Records, Chaz released his album, "Causers of This", early this year, which was praised for its mellow, jazzy synth sound with hints of hip-hop. He is at the brink of becoming the next big thing in the ambient electronica scene.

In this video, Mike Elder, the man behind Eye Level Art, talks about the transformation his gallery has made from a visual art space to a multi-media venue for art, music, and film lovers. Machete of Electric Friends spins fun energetic tunes before Toro y Moi takes the stage to chill out the crowd.
