This is a quick tutorial I created to demonstrate how to edit two camera shoots in Sony Vegas Studio.
I use this technique mostly for theater productions, concerts and recitals. I'll usually set up one camera in the rear of the room to capture the wide shots. I'll use a second camera for close ups and alternate angles. Multi camera shots are a lot of fun.
With professional cameras there are methods to automatically sync via timecodes. However for most consumer grade cameras it is a manual process.
The first step is to align the video so they sync up. I get it close by aligning the audio tracks and then fine tune it by aligning with the video tracks.
I'll then insert gaps into the top layer to expose the hidden layers.
This technique works with 2 or more camera shoots
I think this same technique can be used to sync multi cam video in vegas to0.

Great tutorial. But every time I split a clip and delete it, the rest of the clip moves to the left automatically. How do I keep it from doing that?
Thanks again for a great tutorial!

Thank you so much. I have been trying to figure this new program out to edit our band's new live video and what not. It has been a real hassle until this video. I'm doing this with ease now! Thanks much!
