The fabulous McGuire Sisters were legendary for their special material numbers, hit records, beauty, and some of the best sibling harmony to ever come along! Here Christine, Dorothy and Phyllis present their life story in song. Starting in Ohio with Phyllis' impersonations of Judy Garland and Eartha Kitt, and the trio's impersonation of The Andrews Sisters, we then hear about the early days on TV, it's all covered here in Part 1. Be sure to view part 2, where the trio finds their way to New York City, Arthur Godfrey and hit records. It's all done side-by-side.

  • Phylis does an excellent impersonation of Judy Garland Thank you for sharing.

  • Phyllis has a special gift for impersonations: Ethel Merman, Eartha Kitt, Louis Armstrong, etc., and used them in her solo act as well as those with her sisters! She also does films, made some nice solo recordings, and starred in theater (Unsinkable Molly Brown, Annie Get Your Gun, Little Me, etc). She is very gifted!

  • That is Judy Garlands voice not phyllis. The sisters are great. but no one else can sing Judy Garland.

  • I'm sure MS McGuire would appreciate your comment, since it IS her singing. Phyllis often did her impressions of other entertainers during her solo shows and the ones with her sisters. She was most remarkable!

  • They were the best looking and had the best figures as well as the best harmony of all the sister trios.......

  • Thank you for posting...I love htis sutff!

  • 3:03 i thought she swore but it was her thumb

  • The Mcguires did a much better impersonation of The Andrews Sisters when they weren't even trying, like in such recordings as "Kiss Them For Me" & "Muskrat Ramble." Maxene Andrews once said, "The McGuire Sisters were fine once they stopped copying The Andrews Sisters." The Andrews will always be tops, but when the McGuires eventually hit they're stride, they were great.

  • Phyllis McGuire is a legend and her and her sisters contributed so much to music. I still tune in everytime PBS shows their last reunion in 2004. Funny since I was born in 1964, but still love 'em.

  • This is really good. I haven't seen the McGuire Sisters in a long time. Thanks, Monika for sharing this.

  • JUST ADORABLE!!!!

  • Go Ohio! A++ Go McGUIRE SISTERS! Nice beautiful high quality ladies indeed! A+++ I live about 19 minutes south from the location where The McGuire Sisters had grown up! A++

  • Now, that's entertainment! Gotta love it!
