Um its called paying homage to your idol guess you have never heard of that. Dime Bag spent an entire summer locked in a room and learned the entire Diary of a Mad Man album because he loved Randy's style of playing and he idolized him keep in mind from a book of Randy's tabs he bought from a store. So lmmfao at you.

@THEMASTEROFYOU2000 I agree and I learn songs I like through ear but for the purpose of learning I dont copy cat take what I want and see what the idea came from and its relations. EVen beethoven learned mozart songs before he created his own master peices. Its just how it is.

lmmfao @ TABS........why do so many insist on trying to learn sh*t from someone else's idea of what is being actually played, do not be so lazy!.hell we didn't write or use "tabs" back then, we learned from history, study, practicing, jamming, more study, listening, wearing totally out albums (real records) sweat frustration, good sets of headphones,

eSkaterska watching and working sh*t out, thats what makes a player, not simply running thru the basic notes like a robot, but knowing what has to come next after grabbing down a certain part, understanding the hows and whys the player played the track the way they did, where the thoughts came from, what they were trying to say,
-
infuse into your brain from the things they were doing...an well, do th work, get in the shed and work it out, when I got serious I even turned in my driver license for three years, bought a building and what equipment we could, 12 to 18 hour or longer days, nights wekends holidays, etc doing the work.....try it and amaze yourself freak the sh*t out of others,
-
for simply strumming the easy parts or playing the exact notes with-out the feeling and instinct one gets from living the music, thats right,,watch the youtubers stare at their instrament while trying to imitate the sounds of others, then search and find one where the player is standing, runnin around, smiling and jammin out the same tunes but with feeling, pride of accomplishment and love for the music!.
-
huge difference!.watch Eddie V when he was playing back in the day, it was almost like " hey I'm just standing here smoking my hands are doing this shit by themselves, on their own while I'm smiling drinking smoking and telling jokes" type of thing

.seriously.get there or as close as ya can.and then do the scene fpor 3-5 years, learn what it really takes to do the real work of moving, set-ups, retunes on the fly when breakin a string, never missing a beat while tripping, stumbling, falling, bumping into others and all the shit that goes on, try playing perfect when ya walk in front of the drum riser and suddenly cannot hear anything but the double bass drums slamming into yer ears, and dont f*ck up ,
-
but when ya do work thru it and most nobody will ever even notice.make it all look totally natural.as for any talent when others watch and think why how they could do that easy, but now what,,,go ahead and try it,,,aint so easy.lmmfao.thats the art.making super complex and even self invented things look natural and easy as pire.then..yer on yer way
Thank you for this. Seriously it's amazing.
