To get one wallpaper per workspace using compiz fusion

1) install
compiz-fusion-plugins-extra

2) Enable 'Wallpaper' plugin then add your wallpapers

3) Open gconf-editor then go to
apps,nautilus,perferences, uncheck show desktop

Note for 10.10 users only: to fix the bug hit
Ctrl+ Alt + F1 then Hit Ctrl+ Alt + F7

  • It didn't work for me, i did everything shown in your video. I enabled wallpaper in compiz, and installed the extra plugin in synaptic, and unchecked show desktop in the configuration editor. Also running ubuntu 10.04. help me out if you read this please, it would be very greatly appreciated.

  • @lolpankake might need to restart compiz, alt+f2 and type in compiz --replace

    Use ctrl + alt + F1 and then ctrl + alt + F7 really help
