The first half of the Elimination ride of the Omnium event (like a cycling version of a Hexathlon) competition in the UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics 2010-11 held at the Manchester Velodrome on 18-20 February 2011.
The elimination works simply by having all riders cycle round the track in a group. Every second lap is an elimination lap and the last rider over the line is eliminated and has to leave the track. This continues until the last two riders hold a sprint for the victory. Riders are then awarded points according to where they finished in the race.
well thanks anyway. Nice video, nicely filmed. And looks like a great race :)

@vladfromfrance Thanks. It was virtually the first ever time I've tried recording cycling. I made a few mistakes, but I'm glad you think it came out well. Appreciate it.

can we see the second half?

@vladfromfrance Regretfully, no. My camera ran out of battery when this video ended. :( I actually almost didn't post this video at all because I couldn't show the end. I definitely didn't expect it to become my most-watched video. Sorry! The only positive I can really say is that I've got tickets to the cycling at the 2012 Olympics, and I'll definitely make sure I have spare batteries there.
