Here is a go at For Crying Out Loud by Jim Steinman, performed by Meatloaf. There's one or two errors, but hey, this is my first go! Hope its ok... ;-) BTW, if any of you guys have got another version on piano, PLEASE mail me, love to hear it !
Thank you.

  • As usual, love your work :3

  • @cragsterking Thanks loads ;-)

Thanks for the words of advice. No piano...at least not yet, but I did pick up an old second hand acoustic guitar. I'll start there and work my way up to the piano...keep doing what you're doing.

  • @theflyingferret77 Hi, it works with guitar too..(how do I know?) because I taught myself to play that too :-) Started off with 12 bar blues and went from there. So my friend, theres light at the end of the tunnell ! Just to have to desire to play or create music is (IMO) a unique gift in itself.

    Go for it !

  • Wonderful work Harry! I have a silly ambition about being able to do what you are doing here; on piano, Steinmen's For Crying Out Loud. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I've actually ever bothered to push a key on a piano! You say you can't read music, so how on earth did you get to this level?!!! Perhaps there's hope for me yet.

    Really excellent...

  • @theflyingferret77 Sorry it took so long to reply to you! Ok, as you probably know, I cant read a damn note of music. SO, I learned some easy songs (and made some up) in the key of "C". This is probably the easiest key to start to learn with if you havnt a clue, like I did. From there, I learned other songs by listening to them and trying to mimic them back, which after a while started to get easier as I went along. I realised that chord formations work WHATEVER key youre in.Advice=Experiment!!

  • @HarrysCupboard Didn't know that :)

Yeah, I play this one by ear. You can't find Meatloaf sheet music anywhere!

  • @Seracinfinity Hi, I originally listened to this live, and it was in G major (probably to enable Meat to sing it a little easier). He does change key from the original score from Steinman quite often, but all said, Bb IS the key that it should be played in. Well spotted my freind :-)

  • @Z3kedog He's actually playing the beginning in the wrong key, it's in B flat major, though.

  • @Z3kedog Ah, got ya. Thanks for enlightening me! Learn something every day(!) Cheers.

  • @HarrysCupboard its like playing an eflat as opposed to an enatural. usually its printed at the beginning of a each music line flats r the ones that look like b's. Thanks for the quick reply.
