Accountability is one of the biggest, if not the biggest impediment to growth in our country - Accountability to one self, to our society and to our country!

But how does one even start? Maybe, by being more literate about our rights.

For instance, are you aware of RTI? If yes, great, if no, you could choose to google up for "Right to Information Act (India)" and learn more about it. If you have visited that site and read it, it doesn't take too much to realize that if taken seriously and used well, RTI could be an effective tool to get accountability from the government.

But of course, one needs to DO something about it. I tried petitioning my state government on the status of one of the roads in my city - the result was far from desired but i atleast did get a response - a status - I got information, a starting point to getting accountability. It was a start - I know i needed to have done a lot more, i need to do a lot more and maybe all of us need to - if we want to BE the CHANGE.
