@champfan0 I agree with you to an extent. I see nothing wrong with the original artist taking libirties with their own materieal. On some of the clips I've seen with Lou......his voice is actually pretty good when he stays within himself. I'm not sure if he's trying to sound like either Terry or Bill C. But I can see he is obviouisly lost when playing some of the groups oroginal stuff. I dunno........it's like watching Obama getting lost on one of his teleprompters.
I agree that all new things should be given a chance, I just think Lou sounds like he is doing a Bill impersonation, and not a very good one at that. I know that Bill is better off without Chicago, but I will miss him. By the way if you ever listen to Terry live you would find he took plenty of his own liberties. It's just people think thats okay because he was the original. I think Bill was able to breathe some life into some pretty tired songs for a lot of years.
You need to give lou a chance to fit in. We had to do the same with Bill. Personally I was glad to see Bill go. He took to many liberties on some of Terry's songs. Bill was at his best when he sang his own materieal.
First off Lamm should do Terrys parts, he just plain has the voice for it. Not sure about Lou yet. he is new, so it will take him time to gel with the others. I liked Bill but perhaps it was best for both to part way, his heart wasnt in it these last few years. Chicago does need a manger to improve the bond, and bring all this talent together. Amagine the music still left if they had direction and a team leader.
And, please stop the Jason Scheff bashing!! (Unless you can sing better, night in and night out!!!!)

Each singer brought their own unique sound to these songs... I'm GLAD that Bill didn't try to copy Terry's voice!
Now Lou has his chance... and I hope he gives the songs his own unique sound.

Robert Lamm should take some of Bill's vocal parts. These guys need a MANAGER to tell them what's wrong with their current lineup.
