The Popper Project is a no frills journey in which every week, for 40 weeks, Joshua Roman will post another Etude online from David Popper's "The High School of Cello Playing: 40 Etudes". Each Etude is unedited and filmed wherever Joshua and his laptop happen to be.

  • you must drink some very special orange juice in the morning, with more potassium or something! Very helpful to hear you play it before I try to tackle it myself :-)

  • hello from a practice room in the basement of CIM. thanks for the popper inspiration!

  • @cellolove7 It's a bitch to play. I did this my freshman year. My teacher chewed my butt out for a couple wrong notes/intonation problems with my left hand.

  • Thank you josh you always help me get started on these Etudes. Listening to you makes me have courage.

  • Wow. You're amazing!

  • Excellent

  • i HATE this kind of etude...... but you did an excellent job with it.
