No. I don't understand why people consider stiff lead deadlifts to work hamstrings. I mean they do, but that's also like saying chest flyes is a great workout for your biceps.

Stiff leg deads work the hamstrings because the hams insert at the hip, rotating the hip joint will expand and contract the hams. The back should remaim arched during the movement. Correctly performed stiff deads should leave your hams sore the next day but no soreness in the back. The only back work here should be isometric in keeping the back arched. Buddy here in the video has a rounded back and probably winds up with a sore back the next day.
