@ChopinXVI I agree, I remember one Berlin life concert of Chopin's 1st. The orchestra part was really boring, all good things came from the solist. But with Gilels/Kondrashin it is really great in both, orchestra and piano part - not less impressive as maybe Beethoven's 3rd.
It amazes me how symphonically advanced he was - as a composer, and yet one of the greatest pianist ever! Not even the great Chopin was able to conquer both piano and symphony!

@cantkeepitin Certainly, it is great. It's one of my favorites, but orchestrally - it is not as creative and inventive as it could be.

@ChopinXVI I think at least Chopins 1st piano concerto is great. Check it with Gilels and Kondrashin - this is great in both parts.
