@Jabroniville John Nord's wasn't bad, truth be told. He had some fun matches in AWA, Mid Soutb and AJPW. There was nothing much wrong with him at all in the 1980's. A steady and agile big man.
@Jabroniville Nord only wrestled a few matches on Nitro/Thunder. Can't remember any wins. But Pro was like the 4th tier show, where even Roadblock won a match or two.
Huh, I could've sworn Nord was always a Jobber in WCW, and I figured he would lose here. This was actually a pretty solid, if basic match between two workers you wouldn't normally consider any kind of "good". They kept it simple and it was OK, but not mind-blowing or anything. Too bad neither guy ever really developed real charisma (despite Nord gifting us with "HUSS! HUSS! HUSS! HUSS!"
These guys both came in to WCW at the wrong time. Good time for the money, but bad time for any kind of push. I always liked John Nord's work and I thought Roadblock had a lot of potential.
I remember reading about the "Rochester" Roadblock when he was in wrestling school hoping to get a spot as enhancement talent on a WWF taping. He didn't get used--and he was disappointed.
If I remember correctly, I think he got a $100 or so just for showing up and waiting to see if he was going to be used.
It was in Rolling Stone a few years before this match was taped.
I thought, Joe D'Acquisto aka Roadblock, should have gone A LOT further in WCW. For a guy 6'10 375lbs not to, was quite a shock to me. Considering bigmen "wrasslers", were the "in thing" back in the 80's & 90's.......
@peterp21 Nord lost against Goldberg, but also won Against Roadblock as you see here, and ironically the Barbarian on Nitro.

Both of these guys were both underrated in my book. I think they could have been great monster heels if they were used right.
