I grew up in Thomaston Ga. in th sixties and he inspired a local 13 pc soul review band called Alfonso & the Fabulous Bootleggers. Wayne was just a poor cotton mill boy when he broke out with his r & b & rockabilly style.Fantastic entertainer inspired by James Brown & Little Richard also local boys.Great song.Only legend that I know of from T-Town.

I saw Wayne at least 10 times live. If he was within 100 miles, I traveled to see him. He sat at my table during one of his breaks, and I asked him to sing this song. He said - "I never do that song live, because it makes me cry"

@pwyll39 I LOVE it!. My friend Tom Becker played with him for years...organ, keyboard...I first saw Wayne at the Illlinois State Fair in 1966...I was 17 and he blew us all away!!!!
