Damn, is that not a breach of FAA regulations? I mean that bold tire?

For God sake, show it from the side. The viewer can barely tell what they are looking at from straight on. I watched the video and still can't tell the exact failure mode.

@IFLYBELL Because of the large distances airplanes travel, they need a slick tire for dry runways..grooved tires for wet runways..the other side has a mud and snow tire..(just kidding!)

I think they feel tire tread is optional. How bad is the maintenance for a crack in the landing gear to go un noticed?
