it has to do with arabic. It is Salah by itself and has the "h" sound in the end. But once there is a word coming after, it because salat.

Example: I have to make salah I have to make salat al fajr

It's arabic grammar that makes the difference, someone correct me if im wrong

@maratmasry Salah in arabic has a silent letter at the end that makes the Tah sound, its called Tah marbouta. when a word comes after the word salah the Tah sound is pronunced making it Salat al-fajr, or is some says it fast saltul fajr

No difference except In arabic salat is written with a Tamarabuta (ta) (As'salaatu)and when it is verbally spoken it can be As-salah

I used to not pray either for a long time. And i always had excuses for my self of course it was shaytan making me thing like that. I would tell my self O i don't need to pray god is merciful he will forgive me all i need to do is say there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his final messenger and Allah will forgive my sins or i would say i don't need to pray because so and so prays but he's not a better Muslim than me or so and so prays but he cheats and so on. Pray for your on good.
