2012 update: I'm doing the Shelter Vertical Rush event again, on March 1st 2012/ But with a twist. Not just once, not twice, but I'll be climbing the 42 floors NINE times in succession while trying to set a Vertical Mile Tower Climbing record. A total of 378 floors, 8,280 steps and 5,310ft; over a vertical mile! It would mean a huge amount to me and Shelter if you could add your support by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/verticalmile and giving whatever you can afford. That would be both amazing and wonderful of you.
On March the 3rd 2011 I joined almost a thousand others at London's Tower 42 - formerly the NatWest Tower - to race up its 920 steps and 42 floors for Shelter, the homeless charity (http://www.shelter.org.uk). I set myself the target of doing the climb under 7 minutes...
Here's a full list of the finishers and their times: http://www.tdl.ltd.uk/results.php?checked=1&race_id=603&submit_x=147
News! As you'll see I managed 6:58 last year but for 2012 (March 1st) I'll be running up Tower 42 nine times in succession for Shelter as a part of their 4th Vertical Rush event, trying to set a Guinness World Record for a 1Km tower climb on my way to a full Vertical Mile. That's 5,310ft, 378 floors, 8,280 steps & lots of pain! The curious can read more at justgiving. com/VerticalMile - Anyone thinking of getting involved should. It's a very well-organised, good-fun event for a worthy cause :)

What's the name of the song in the beginning? Or is it just a random mix?
