Forget the made up quote - which Don is clearly proud that he can read. This man is bone chillingly stupid.

Really, he's less articulate than Billy Bob Thornton's character in Sling Blade.

And can anyone transcribe that last sentence he tries to construct? It's something like: "The same problem that if he and been successful we have not had the freedom of the people in this country."

Lincoln's anti-Mexican war speech can be found in "The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln," Vol. 1, 431-442 Basler edition, 1953. Besides implying that Pres. Polk was a liar and a murderer, he described militarism as "that attractive rainbow that rises in showers of blood." An amazing speech, and chillingly relevant today.

What makes this doubly ironic is that Lincoln made an antiwar speech when HE was a Congressman, calling President Polk a liar and a murderer, while US troops were fighting in Mexico. In fact, Lincoln described Polk's reasoning as "the half insane mumbling of a fever dream." So I guess to Republicans today Lincoln would have just been another liberal traitor.
