Four-Way Kidney Exchange: Emmet Davitt

Emmet Davitt wanted to donate a kidney to help family friend Sean Menard, 10, who was suffering from kidney failure.

Although Davitt was a not a match for Sean, his willingness to be a part of the four-way kidney exchange allowed Sean, and three other people, the chance to receive new, functioning kidneys.

In this video, Davitt shares his story, including his experience at UMMC, his quick recovery from the single incision kidney removal procedure and his emotions about being part of this life-changing exchange.
