  • This game looks interestingly old school style like a first person style eye of the beholder. Used to love reading and playing books from the fighting fantasy series and also zork. Nostalgia lol!

It's amazing how ignorant some gamers are as to what made some of these games great in the first place. Point and click, puzzles and riddles, intense battles, exploration etc.

Sure graphics can be nice but nothing without good gameplay. Hope this turns out ok.

  • if your going to look at it like that, the Elder Scrolls series was inspired by the whole table top rpg genre, which includes the Fighting Fantasy series.

    OBLIVION RIPPED THIS OFF

  • dude they just made 5 books into apps at the itunes store! :D

fuck what a great time we live in!!!

  • man this looks so cool, orcs and elves is good, but this blows it away.

  • @lotlat Not at all, I was responding to all the ignorant people saying that this was just a cheap rip off of Oblivion.

  • @Wiggum1223 not exactly. I think you mean daggerfall and arena ripped this off. morrowind and oblivion just upgraded it

  • I used to play the ZX Spectrum version of this with my dad back in '94. GOOD TIMES!

  • Interesting. I remember playing through the book (and the rest of the series when I was a preteen/teen), but I guess they've really modified it for the game.

  • Just for information here... The "Fighting Fantasy" brand/genre published it's first book (yes it was RPG Book) in 1982, it too was called "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain". The "Final Fantasy" brand published its first game in 1987, yup 5 years after "Fighting Fantasy". So all comments about the name ripping off Final Fantasy's brand is well off the mark.

  • @ImNotScaryImBoredLOL it is more of a throwback to ultima underworld and elder scrolls arena.

  • Poor control responses made this game frustrating.

A waste of my money I sold it back to game (for a big loss!) about a week later.

On a positive note at least I found some new Fighting Fantasy books are available.

  • @babyshawn21994 scary :O
