Roger Rabeau, avocat réussi, vit tourmenté par la santé de sa mère et les caprices de sa belle mais possessive fiancée Johanne. Cette dernière ne perd jamais laubaine pour lui faire une scène de jalousie. Apres un dispute qui se produit la nuit même de leur fiançailles, Roger décide daccompagner ses 3 amis pour une petite vacance de deux semaines a Jacmel. Cest la ou il rencontre Sarah, une gentille et mignonne Jacmelienne qui lui raconte lhistoire de son passé et la raison pour laquelle elle a peur daimer.
