look at how people treat pilots... they totally idolize us!
"Pilots looking down on people since 1903"
I try not to be too showy or arrogant about it though. I'm just another guy. But I'm a guy with a uniform, aviatiors and I have the ability to fly. so therefore the ladies are attracted to me... lol!!!

@BrokPiloot That's VFR, guy, "Visual Flight Rules". A VOR is a radio beacon. To those who don't know, since TNCM lacks ILS (Instrument Landing System) facilities, every landing is hand-flown and IFR landings are out of the question. But then again, St. Maarten only gets IFR conditions during hurricanes, and nobody flies in a hurricane.
BTW, KLM pilots rule!

All St maarten approches are VOR ones so that explains the fast approach

great vid and even better landing!
why s early gear down?

The airplane was very fast and high considering the track miles to the runway due to the short-cut by ATC. In these circumstances it's standard procedure to reduce speed asap.
Lowering the gear under these circumstances is done in a earlier stage than in a normal stabilized approach on a ILS.
