Come on that's not pseudoscience, this is a semantic quibble. In a sense, yes, it actually is "old blood" - the average age of cells in a region with little flow would certainly be more than the rest of the body.
Besides, she said "fresh blood *flow*", which would be technically correct anyway (not that it's a great stretch to imagine that she means "oxygenated" blood in the first place)
