For all those fascinated (confused? dumbfounded?) by the meter of this music, it is 11/8 (2+2+3+2+2). The tune is actually from Eastern Serbia (although the meter is also very popular in the south, and in Macedonia). The music of this region of the Balkan peninsula is well known for its compound rhythms such as 7/8, uneven 9/8 (2+2+2+3), 11/8, uneven 12/8 (3+2+3+2+2) etc. To the outsiders, it is very difficult to grasp (even to professional musicians). Natives do it effortlessly...

Somethin traditional here yes? Very old tune yes? Reminds me the time i went to Kusturica's band here in Moscow (the Serbian filmmaker). Melody is VERY similar to their stuff... Balkans style! music should heal all wounds between nations!
you guys surely look like you are enjoying jourselves. Must have been a hell of a party.
