Police searched a Jackson County home Friday in connection with a credit card fraud case.
Investigators said bags of evidence were removed from the home near Highway 7 and Colbern Drive.
Police said the evidence was $14,000 worth of merchandise that had been purchased with stolen credit cards.
"It's alarming and surprising. Normally, this is a really quiet neighborhood," neighbor Dee Wills told KMBC's Jere Gish. "It was kind of disheartening and alarming to see all those police over there."
Neighbors said they've seen several high-priced vehicles at the home.
The house had been sold several months ago, but neighbors said they weren't sure the new owners had ever moved in.
No one was home when police searched the house.
Police said all the stolen merchandise had been purchased at a store in Independence.
Investigators said they plan to search an additional location in the future.
