Screw this. I like my job the best. I fly helicopters for shell oil. I fly to oil platforms at $145/hr. I'm a hobby welder yet professional pilot. Safer job and I'm always warm.

This guys only practising. It's in a tank. He's not a welder, probably any early attempt. I can tell, 'cause I've been at underwater welding for 10 years! It's not a coding test piece he's got there, it's def not a job, the earth clamps miles away on the bench with the piece not clamped or tacked down. He's welding towards himself, which most welders don't do too. Plus, that looks like a 4mm rod, which no-one would use for a root pass. Welding money's not bad, but the figures on here are wildly

Really depends on locale too.Read about the antarctic welder who was making 900 an hour.

@realvanman1 yes welding contractors a tax deductible expense who work for $5k a day.

@circusboy90210 Yeah, because the company get's the shit taxed out of it. And has little things like, overheads...

nice clip. To bad tho that there was no welding screen in front of the camera, then you would see the welding better...
great location ... away from the nagging missus

Not that this isn't cool to watch, but this looks like a serious pain in the ass. Last thing I would want during a weld is to start floating away from it.
