Founded by Mark Drouin and his wife Robin, Central City Missions began as an outreach ministry to the poor of New Orleans in 1997. After moving to the inner city in 1998 and formally established as a church plant in 2000, our vision has been to go to "the least of these", live amongst them, and plant churches of authentic spiritual families among the poor.
This DVD is a photographic collage of 10 years of ministry (so far). We hope to challenge, encourage, inspire, and attest to God's faithfulness when we are faithful to follow His call to "go to the poor". While our ministry has been through many changes in the last 10 years, especially following Hurricane Katrina, our vision and commitment remains the same.
1997-2005-( Pt 1)covers the years beginning outreach in housing projects, at the local homeless shelter, ministry to youth, meeting in homes, and leading up to acquiring and renovating the property which continues as our base of operations.
2005-2007-( Pt 2) picks up following Hurricane Katrina, whereby we began and continue to house visiting teams assisting in disaster relief and community outreach. Highlighting a variety of ministry from gutting homes to painting murals , and transitioning from a church plant to a full fledged Missions Base committed to " rebuilding cities by planting churches amongst the poor"
