This is a video of the horrific injury that may lead David Beckham to not play in the World Cup in South Africa..
The injury occurred on March 14th 2010 whilst Beckham was on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy to AC Milan against Chievo, Seedorf scored in the 90th Minute and AC Milan went on to win the game 1-0 but nobody knows the amount of damage this has done to Beckham both mentally and physically.
Personally i hope he makes the journey to South Africa because his experience is key but after this injury it looks as if he will definitely stay behind.

Beckham out of World Cup
Former Three Lions captain to undergo surgery on Monday

It's an important injury. He immediately said it (the tendon) was broken. He immediately understood it was an important problem.

Leonardo on David Beckham

England midfielder David Beckham has torn his Achilles tendon, according to AC Milan boss Leonardo, and his hopes of playing at the World Cup would appear to be over as he is set for surgery in Finland on Monday.

The on-loan 34-year-old, a former Three Lions captain, hobbled out of the late stages of Milan's victory over Chievo on Sunday night after pulling up when unchallenged.

Beckham signalled to the bench that he needed to come off, despite Leonardo having used all of his substitutes, and the Milan manager has now said that the veteran has torn his Achilles tendon.

"David's injury gives us pain", Leonardo told Sky Italia. "It's an important injury. He immediately said it (the tendon) was broken. He immediately understood it was an important problem."

A Sky Italia television reporter on the San Siro touchline said Beckham had told the bench, "It's broken, it's broken" as he was stretchered off with his head in his hands.

Beckham had joined Milan on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy in order to boost his chances of impressing England boss Fabio Capello ahead of this summer's World Cup, which kicks off in June.

  • I had exactly the same injury before 5 months. I thought someone hit me from behind. The pain was incredible, after the operation recovery was incredibly difficult and slow. Football, maybe never!
