@inamonianim Wth do you mean by fake? It is an animation, what exactly do you expect? And anyway i think that the horses are very realistic in this film compared to other animations including horses.

This song, is so beautiful, I've seen it on stage, and it is equally amazing

I loved Spirit, and I watched War Horse yesterday. The scenes where they're made to haul the great guns up the banks is so like when the horses in Spirit have to drag the train up the mountain. Very powerful films about the horses who didn't get a choice. Thanks so much for sharing my favourite track from the stage production. :D

Loved the movie, don't know if the play has been to Perth yet.
When i was watching the movie i kept thinking of Spirit, especially the bond between the horses and humans and the scene where he and Topthorn are pulling the cannon. =) Beautiful song. =)

I'm in tears.

Saw it a couple months ago, so powerful, everyone was crying before anything bad even happened!!!!!

what is the name of the song this is adapted from?
-
Reason why you would probably have difficulty in trying to find the lyrics to the song is because it's an adaptation of Tams' 'Snow Falls'... the lyrics are mostly the same but rearranged differently.
two questions, one: was this song in the movie?
And two, does anyone know if there is another version on youtube somewhere of a woman singing it like on broadway? I like that version better.

@6045310708 Assuming that you are talking about the War Horse movie, no it wasn't. The Play and the film are different things, despite the same story. And to your second question, probably not. It is rather hard to find music from the play on Youtube, the only reason this video has 20,000 views is because you can't listen to this song anywhere else. Plus, as far as i know at the moment, the soundtrack for the play is only for the British production.

**** And finally, it's "Phoebe arise, a gleam in her eyes". Phoebe is a female personification of the moon (paired with John Barleycorn's personification of barley and the harvest), and is again a reference to the harvest and the cycle of life represented in the play.
I enjoyed your video very much, and was glad to be able to hear the whole song again. War Horse is hands down the most astonishing and affecting piece of theatre I've ever seen.
I hope these lyric corrections are helpful.

@seankozmainla Thanks! The corrected lyrics are really helpful and now make a bit more sense especially now knowing about John Barleycorn.
And i completely agree, War Horse was a truly beautiful play.
