It has been a while since our last video, sorry about that. Tom and I have been really busy and we just havnt had time to post anything. We did this song just because it was such a nice and mellow song. Its the right season for this type of music, at least i think. Its a nice
song

There are some great videos about how to play this video on youtube, and you can just seach them up. But for the violin on the other hand, it is one of the oddest songs i have played in a while. First off, the guy who sings it doesnt really sing notes, he sings like inbetween two half steps and for some reason, the guitar part does not fit with real notes, so your fingers have to tune to what the sound is supposed to sound like, which is about a quarter step lower than the note it is intended to be. The first note is a G on the D, then A, F#, D, E, F#, G, E, D, C, B, C, B, A, G, B, C B

chorus, starts on D, B, D, E, D, D

Lyrics:

I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes
Are mirror images and
When we kiss they're perfectly aligned

And I have to speculate
That God himself did make us into
Corresponding shapes like puzzles pieces
From the clay

True, it may seem like a stretch
But it's thoughts like this
That catch my troubled head
When you're away, when I am missing you to death

When you were out there on the road
For several weeks of shows
And when you scan the radio
I hope this song will guide you home

They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll stay

I've tried my best to leave
This all on your machine
But the persistent beat
Sounded thin upon listening

That frankly will not fly
You will hear the shrillest highs
And lowest lows with the windows down
When this is guiding you home

They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll say...

  • Aw man. You guys have awesome taste in music. Unless you're just covering songs you know will appeal to people like me. Which would be dumb. So I hope that's not it. Anyway, have you heard of the Silver Seas? They're really good. One of their songs was used on a washing machine commercial. I really like that song. "Imaginary Girl." Also. Death Cab For Cutie. They're a fun band.

  • yeah death cab is one of my fav bands, we're trying to do a cover of them =]

  • you should make the capo go lower on the guitar so that the instruments are on the same pitch, other than that it was great!

  • yeah we had that problem of the violin not being in tune with the guitar, but the way the actual recording is it plays in that key.

my violin is actually tuned out of tune on purpose haha. nice catch lol

  • this might sound weird- but this song made me realize how amazing humans really are.

  • You're a little sour on a few notes but you do alright... maybe a rerecording is in demand?
