Hemp Foods on National TV

Hemp foods pioneer and Original Hemp Nut Richard Rose (HempNut Inc., Hemp Foods Association, Hemp Industries Association) appears on a national TV talk show. They make a potato salad, and talk about all aspects of hemp in an unrehearsed 9 minute piece. Both are dressed all in hemp clothes. Aired July 23, 1999 in the afternoon, on the west coast immediately after the John Kennedy Jr funeral ceremony. To this day it remains hemp's biggest and longest time on a national TV stage, and an example of the good PR possible when activists and their victim narrative aren't involved. Remember, hemp is high in omega-3, not THC.

AFAIK, she got no flak from anyone, including CBS. And why would she? Hemp is hemp, and all we did was make a potato salad. Roseanne was super supportive, but it was her 20-yo daughters who booked me on the show.

You are confusing Hemp with Marijuana, much like the federal government has been doing since 1937. Hemp has nothing to do with pharmaceuticals or drugs.

So sad that Prop 19 did not pass in California yesterday. Prop 19 would have made both hemp and marijuana legal. But we will try again in 2012 and we will one day free the cannabis plant.

There is a HUGE difference between hemp and marijuana.

Hemp is grown for its seeds,fiber, oils, and other industrial uses and does not contain enough THC to get a person high.

Marijuana, on the other hand includes THC and a variety of other mind/body altering chemicals that may be used for recreational or medicinal purposes.

Both hemp and marijuana come from the same genus, cannabis which is banned in the US.

13 states legalized medical marijuana use, but industrial hemp remains banned, why?
