Brave, beautiful, and great film art, Genet was one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. This was inspired by him. please read his novels, starting with,I would suggest, The Thief's Journal. All you gay guys especially should read him. Please forgive me for my grammatical errors, but it's 3 am and I'm totally wasted.

I made Ecce Homo in 1989 in response to the anti-sex hysteria that emerged in America as a result of the A.I.D.S. epidemic. There were actual "sex-police " patrolling the bathouses in San Francisco. Some crypto-facist American politicians proposed tattooing everyone who was HIV positive. The merging of Doctor and Cop is examined in the film via the Genet reference. The film was included in the Whitney Museum's "Art of the 20th Century" show. Thanks for posting this film. Jerry Tartaglia.

Really well-made. I can't believe we can see this on youtube, though. I guess the uploader found a loophole because it was art. The nice thing about it was, even though it had blatantly hardcore pornography superimposed on images from Un Chant d'Amour, it wasn't in the least bit pornographic, imo. Then again, "pornography" is a social construct anyway.
