See http://www.ihesm.com/Loudermilk3.html#bmm all about the song on the John D Loudermilk site.
The song Break My Mind has been recorded by The Box Tops, Glen Campbell, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lee Hazlewood, Linda Ronstadt, Roy Orbison, Anne Murray, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Wreckless Eric, and many many more. But never composer John D Loudermilk himself recorded it for one of his albums. Here's a live version of John D. performing it in 2007 for the Poets and Prophets Series, organised by the Country Hall Of Fame And Museum, Ford Theatre, Nashville TN.

No video of this commercially available. I've posted it with the help of the Loudermilk family.

  • Excellent. I felt as if I was in his living room with the aroma of coffe and beans wafting through.the bars. lol.

  • I always liked this tune

  • What a treat to see him do this song.

  • This is, I think, my favorite thing on the internet. Wonderful performance.

Actually, this performance "feels" like Dylan doing Don't Think Twice.

    Just great.

  • Classic Legendary Awesome. I'm so elated to hear his own personal interpretation.

  • Glad you were able to do it. After having been a fan of JDL's for a long time, I recall tuning into a singer on, I believe, the Nashville music channel. I didnt know who he was but was thinking, this guy is GREAT! Turned out it was JDL doing a song quite awhile after his 'fame' years. Would love to be able to see that clip dug up-it was awesome!

  • I really like him :) Great composer.
