there is no "coating" dude, its a piece of finely machined aluminum. its far better than injection molded cases. if anything is wearing off its a very very very small amount and wont really hurt anything.

you noob don't know how to handle comps you don't need a cooling fan cuse you can download programs to make your fans speed up noob.

@Armaangandevia1 I already have tried a couple of those programs (fan control and smc fan control).
I use the fan program and the cooling pad when video editing.
Cooling pad = cheap laptop insurance.....not noob material

@nip2121 This was an early macbook aluminum....It had only just been released for a few days, there were a few glitches with some of the first ones. Even the people at the store noticed the aluminum coating coming off on their hands (my video card was also shot...green lines in the screen). I returned it and got a 2.4 ghz macbook aluminum.
