hello; does the night vision video tape in black and white or a greenish hue? Have you tried night vision with an external IR light?

Hi,
I am a proud owner of XDR xr500. Now I am facing a problem
I have cut few video clips from the ADCHD directory and pasted to my hard disk.. Now its shows no images(thumb nail) while I access my Handy cam.
Today When i tried to record video, it showed an error message "DATA ERROR" and it closed . Could you please help me to sort out this issue
