T41's kill baby harbour porpoise

This footage was shot by Tyler and camera and processing provided by Chantelle. transient killer whales kill and devour a baby harbour porpoise. sorta shaky footage but you get the picture. after we left the scene, another whale watching boat found the head of the animal.

Porpoises are naturally attracted to humans and boats. Orcas, having figured this out are exploiting it. While only intending to observe the wildlife, you have endangered it. The presence of the boat is a likely reason this porpoise died.

Porpoises are kind of related. They are generally smaller, much much shier [except for Dall's porpoise], live in tiny family groups [usually 2 or three], and have very differently shaped teeth. Porpoises are generally much more robust than dolphins. Porpoises are chubby little things. Porpoises are mostly quiet and coastal, whereas the vast majority of dolphins are found in the open ocean.
