  • @YoungPoleInOldReekie Yeah but the only true dignified black men in this film was DA Mayor and Samuel L. Jackson's character. I love this film, and I hate it. DA Mayor was the only person who was vocal on what doing the right thing really meant. And what does he get? He gets blasted throughout half the film by different characters for shit reasons. It seems that everyone save for him and the disc jockey carried racial prejudices. That's what's disturbing; the local wino was the most sane of all.

  • One of my favorite movies. I don't remember who said it, but I saw an interview in which a man said, "This movie makes you uncomfortable which is precisely what art is supposed to do." Perfectly said. If you watch this and you find yourself getting caught up in the tension, then Spike and company achieved their goal. I also always thought this could be turned into a great play. Some of the dialogue and images really lend themselves to the stage. I wish it were possible.

  • love this film so much

  • Great movie. One of the greatest of all time.

  • @Dwk519 you're clearly an ignorant creature if you don't know the history of the Irish whom were subjugated by England and the Christians who have been oppressed through the centuries. take a history class.

  • Not that it really matters, but I feel this one should have had more oscar nominations... and wins. This truly was one of the greatest film of its year

  • @Horusthebetrayer that was the dramatic irony of the movie...helps make the film

  • Mookie is back in 2012!!

  • @morradiermann90 I think you're probably the idiot here. First off, if you let a movie make you a racist, you're dumb as fuck. I'd go into the dozen other reasons that prove you're a moron, but I think it would be lost on you. Please don't breed.

  • @morradiermann90 well if you're aware of this, hopefully you won't act upon this racism (or cultivate it...)

  • @morradiermann90 you come off immature and maybe you are to say that a movie made you 90% more racist- just think about the fact that you thought that and said it. smh
