The weekly magazine has run the snap alongside a bold headline proclaiming: "Whitney: The last photo!"
It is understood the photograph was taken inside the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey, where her family attended a private wake last Friday (local time) on the eve of her funeral.

The magazine claims the photo was taken at the private viewing - although does not reveal who took the picture.

Carolyn Whigham, the owner of the Whigham Funeral Home, told MailOnline: "I have spoken with the family about this and they have asked me not to comment on the matter."

Whitney - who died aged 48 on February 11 - was wearing jewels worth $500,000 and had gold slippers on her feet, according to the publication.

Who would have thought her own brother sold her out to support his addiction? Sad! He admits on Oprah that he was the 1 that introduced her to drugs right in front of his mom & wow she looked Idk she turned her face away & you could see tears. I mean her children! I thought that Raffels sold her pics never would've thought her brother Michael. The 1 that defended her when she was young. So sad.

no honey she gave us all she had to give as well, she gave us great music, better than anything you will ever hear again, great movies better than any that have came out since so the family nor whitney dont owe you or us anything, she paid her dues to us with her music, that is why so many celebrities are the way they are because of fans feeling like they own them like slaves to music It was enough they played the funeral on TV some didnt do that Aaliyah and Michael whole thing was private.

It’s sad that someone would sell her photo for money. Why Carlyon say they know who snap the photo because they have cameras in that funeral home and they have pull those films. When a member of my family died I worry about their souls. I pray that they have clean souls and will be able to rise when the first trumpets sound. In the end this is all going to matter where you spend eternal.
