This is one of the saddest songs ever made, probably my favorite song of all time, so sad.

Why is he sad at the end, what happened to his family?

Had to listen to this song twice, sad thing is I had never heard this song before until this Christmas . . . great song.

Christmas music stopped playing after this song played last night. It was the last time I'd get to hear it. This song means alot to me. What a great way to end the seasons music with a good song

@WendySunVal ~ Me too. Such painful times...

I remember listening to this while driving in the backroads of Connecticut during the holidays... It touched me like no other song has (except for Mercy Mercy Me by Marvin Gay). I was sad when I heard he passed. I'm in my early thirties and African American...and this song means a lot to me. That says so much about the universal language music (and art) is.

Only thing I dislike about this song is that it is only played at Christmas. Other than that, this is a brilliant masterpiece by an underrated genius. This is not a Christmas song and I wish radio stations would stop treating it as if it were. I love this song.....
