She blushed and said, "Thanks I guess."
"Um so I heard you've had a rough day." I was still a little flustered.
"You could say that."
"Look, Hayl, I'm sorry we got you into all of this."
"It's not your fault."
"Interesting."
"What?"
"It's just the old Hayley would have totally blamed us."
"The old Hayley?"
"The one who first came and swore she'd never enjoy herself on this tour."
"You think I've changed?"
"Well, yeah, but not in a bad way. You've just opened up I guess."
"Yeah, I guess."
I panicked again. "But it's not that I didn't like the old Hayley. The old Hayley just didn't like us."
"The old Hayley was used to putting up walls to protect herself." I was surprised she admitted that. "The new Hayley still kind of does it, but you Jonases are just too good at knocking them down."
I smiled. "So what's this I hear about you not going to the concert tonight?"
"I don't really feel like facing the photographers and all," she shrugged.
"I know it's rough, but you'll get used to it."
"You and Kevin really are brothers."
"Kevin said that too?" I asked a little too quickly.
"Uh yeah."
"Well, I guess if both of us said it, it must be true."
"More than 2 people said the world was flat, but that didn't make it true."
"No, but people believed them."
"And millions of people died ignorant."
"Okay, this has gotten irrelevant. My point is, we've been through it. Overnight suddenly you can't go out without people recognizing you, so we know from experience that you do get used to it."
"Maybe I don't wanna get used to it."
"Huh?"
"I don't want this to be my life, Nick."
"I know, and I'm sorry this happened, but are you gonna spend the whole tour locked up inside?" I asked.
"No, just until it blows over some."
"Do you really wanna ruin a couple weeks of your life for that?"
"They're ruined either way," she mumbled.
"Well, with that attitude they will be."
"Now you sound like Mikayla."
"Well, she sounds like a smart kid. Besides she obviously has amazing taste in music."
She laughed. "Good one."
"Look," I said, moving past her sarcasm and sitting up next to her, "You can hide from the world, but when you do that, you miss so much. You were having fun before all this happened, weren't you?"
"Yeah..."
"So don't let them get to you. If you let them control your life, they've won. Are you really gonna let the paparazzi win?"
"I didn't think about it that way."
"They're just trying to cause problems. they can't do that if you don't let them."
"I guess you're right," she mumbled.
I got a text from Joe. "All right," I said to Hayley after I had read it, "it's time to head over to the arena. You gonna come or are you gonna let them win?"

will she go? sorry the cliff sucks. I'm really upset with myself, i don't have good cliffs anywhere near, so I just had to end it there. but it's getting pretty twisted now, isn't it? it's interesting, at least from what i can tell, you guys are still pretty split on who you want her to end up with. You'll have to wait!! hehe
So some of you said on See You that you really wanted me to keep going with it, but not a lot. like i got real responses from about like 3 of you, so i don't know what I'm gonna do yet. You guys gotta make it more clear what you want.
