I show you the calculator game I made on my own while I was board in class. You make it all from the calculator with no computer needed at all. You can make your own also. If enough people would like the lines of code for the basic "engine" if you will, I'll be more than happy to put those in the more info section. Making calculator games does require some that you know your way around the calculator first. You don't need to know everyhting, just some basic programming knowledge. You could probably read through the manual that came with the calc and be well off enough to program games yourself. I haven't seen any videos about making your own games from the calc on YouTube yet, but if any of you guys have your own then feel free to leave a reply video showing me your basic layout.

I also wanted to note that the better the calculator you have, the faster it can do calculations, and the faster and smoother the game will run. I have the lowest end calc but with a Ti-84 or anything like it, the game would run a lot better than on mine.

I've added the lines of code for the engine I came up with. Feel free to try it out, alter it, impress your friends, or make a game yourself. Just be sure to come back here and show what you came up with, maybe even leave a tip for others.

  • how old you when you made this game

  • @robodudeable uhhhh it was a little over a year ago so like 16 haha. I want to do more but don't have the time. I'm looking for a way to do this on my computer, i feel i would be able to make some crazy games!!!

  • very cool! ive made 1 game and its just simple number guessing game. im taking program class next year. it would be cool to show some tutorials on making different aspects of a game.

  • you know what! i think I'll do just that. I just finished making a Guitar Hero / Rock Band game for the calculator that I'd like to show people who're interested. Also there's been a couple people messaging me for help on how I did this (which after some thinking, is reletively easy). I'll prolly do a tutorial series on how to make programs / games for the calculator sometime soon. Be sure to subscribe so that when I upload them, you know.

  • THIS IS THE CONTINUATION OF MY COMMENT --- I spent all of my pre-calc classes programming on my TI -83 Plus. I made some games along the same lines. I also used an "X" to walk around like you did. I made a couple "escape the room" games and a few others as well. I wanted to make a video response showing you some of my games but I can't find my camera. If I do find it, I will make a video and post it as a response to this video.

  • PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS - Hey that was pretty cool! I had just figured out about programming on the calc. I saw my friends programming so being a computer programming nerd I had to check it out. (The program I use for making games on the computer is called BYOND. You should check it out.) CONTINUED...
