Hmmm.... I'm torn. I learned "Lads of Laois" from Jack and Charlie Coen's "The Branch Line" cd. I really love that version of Lads of Laois but I have to admit, their version sounds unlike any other version I've ever heard.
So part of me wants to re-learn the tune to conform with the crowd, and part of me wants to stick with the version that I prefer. Not as much fun playing solo, though....
michael, get in touch with me, i play whistle also and need to brush up big time, yur really good, and good 4 someone who's learning by ear if u know what i mean, nice tunes.
Good job on a tune that's range doesn't fit the whistle. Would sound better if the low notes were possible but you make it sound as if the tune could have been written with those high notes (if I didn't know better) so yeah, well done!
thanks michael, listening to this reel made me remember a tune i learned years ago and forgot about.
now im playing them as a set
