The Beaulne Museum is located in a historical building called the Château Arthur-Osmore-Norton (Arthur-Osmore-Norton Castle). This splendid private home was built in 1912 by Arthur Osmore Norton, a renowned industrialist of the region. Mister Norton made his fortune manufacturing a unique model of ball-bearing jack invented by Francis Sleeper of Coaticook. Arthur O. Norton bought the patent, and went on to manufacture and distribute this powerful jack used predominantly by railway companies.
Since its construction, the Norton residence has been generally called the Norton Castle by local residents by reason of its immensity, opulence and the richness of its woodwork. The architecture is born of the marriage of many styles, influenced more notably by the Classic Queen-Anne Revival, the American Arts & Craft, and Shingle styles.
An institution with a decidedly regional bent, the mission of the Beaulne Museum consists mainly in featuring and highlighting textiles and costumes, preserving local heritage, and promoting the visual arts.
The permanent exhibition of the Museum traces the history of the Castle and of the family that had it built, while also touching on that of the city of Coaticook. In addition to the permanent exhibition, a dozen temporary exhibitions are held annually, presented under various themes and representing all visual arts disciplines.

Moreover, special events and funding activities are organized throughout the year, amongst which we have the Dinner and Dreams Evening, the Festive Day of the Museum, the The Pleasures of Tea, the Cultural Voyage, and, marking the end of the years activities, the Christmas Tea.
The Museum also offers dynamic educational services whose activities draw thousands of students each year.
A museological institution of renown, the Beaulne Museum is well established in the community it serves and is constantly innovating for the greater satisfaction of its public.

Whether alone or with the family, in couples or in groups, making a small detour to come visit the museum is well worth your while.
