Lucie Horváthová is an example of what is possible. As a Roma from the Czech city of Pardubice, she has overcome great odds. Lucie, a masters student specialising in Social Anthropology, is currently working for the Cabinet of the Minister for Human Rights and Minorities in the Czech Republic. In this video she talks of the dangers of dwelling on the negative and the need for emphasising the success stories of Roma integration. Gypsy Spirit 2009 is one idea of how to give progress a voice. The video was shot at a conference organised by the Dzeno Associaiton on increasing Roma participation in political and public life. Lucie believes firmly that the Roma situation needs to be addressed immediately but not in isolation exclusively Roma solutions could worsen problems in the country.

Ma pravdu! 20 rokov nepočúvam v telke nič iné ako sú Rómovia zlí a ako by nám bolo bez ních dobre! Prečo to robia? Aby sme si nevšímali kto nás skutočne okradol a okráda? @petrkuran Blbče! Zde je člověk! Něco má na srdci! Něco chce říct! Já tomu rozumím! Nevadí mi jako dokonale se umí vyjádřit člověk který mě žádá o pomoc! Proto že jsem člověk! Ne svině! Toto zde není žádný kurz angličtiny! To co hledáš, je někde jinde! Zkus jinou adresu!
